Hi All - just a quick update to advise that tomorrow I commence my trip - all going well... I have been watching the news re the spewing volcano in Iceland with more than a passing interest. For those of you who don't know - some flights over Britain - those to Scotland and northern England, were cancelled due to the fallout from the Icelandic volcano - a different one than the one last year, which caused all of the havoc to travellers and the travel industry, where billions of $$$ were lost due to severely curtailed flight schedules.
I hope to post an update in about 10 days - by then I will hopefully have landed in London (if not London, then somewhere relatively close, where I have been able to buy a train ticket to reach London). I have a ticket to the Chelsea Flower Show on Thursday, so really don't have very long to make alternate arrangements if need be. I will have probably had my week in Paris too.
Here's hoping all goes well. First stop Singapore - 2 hr stop-over - time enough for a shower in the Qantas Club, and a couple of Scotch and Cokes - by that time I'm hopeful that I will fall asleep in my aisle seat and sleep most of the way to London!!!
